WHISTLER

Whistler is the second cottage as you arrive at the property. There are spectacular views of St. Charles Bay from the front porch and the Gathering Space. During Whooping Crane season you will see them flyover in the morning and afternoon to their daytime nesting space on the adjacent property. The couch in the Gathering Space pulls out into a Queen Size bed. A King Size bed in the bedroom provides plenty of sleeping room. This cottage sleeps a total of 4 people.

What a beautiful and comfortable retreat. This small cozy cottage packs SO MANY amenities in a small space. Every time we needed for anything, there it was - a washing machine, a dishwasher, tools for cooking, even coffee and snacks. The cottage was the perfect size and was great for relaxing and birding and stargazing from the front porch. The bed was huge and incredibly comfortable. We raved about the towels and how nice they were as well. And of course the view cannot be beat - both of the bay and the wildlife. The host was very receptive and communicative. One of the best places I’ve ever stayed. Cannot recommend enough!

My party of 3 had a very enjoyable time staying at this cottage. It was so cute and roomy. We saw more whooping cranes off the front porch than we did on our tour. It was very peaceful and the view totally gorgeous. Done pass this place up. The check in was very easy and Paula responded quickly to any of our questions. Will stay here again.

This was exactly what my partner and I needed! After working a year from home we were itching for a safe and quiet getaway from Houston and this cottage provided a great space. We arrived mid day on a Thursday and were the only occupants until Saturday, when other guest started trickling into the other flats. Luckily enough we left right as everyone started settling in but it is worth noting that these flats are a hot spot on the weekend! Also worth mentioning is that the water from the sinks and shower had a foul scent no matter how long we ran the water. Although Paula isn't on site, she sent her local contacts over to check out the situation but they didn't find any issues. Hopefully it was a temporary fluke and all is back to normal! Luckily there was filtered water we could use to wash our dishes and brush our teeth but because of our short stay we opted in not to use the shower, in case the issue was more severe than we had thought. Nonetheless we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the fully stocked kitchen and comfortable bed!

We stayed at the Whistler house. We loved our tiny house. It was very clean & bright with lots of windows. We enjoyed looking at the feeder behind the house. Saw birds & 7 deer. Enjoyed drinking our coffee on the deck in the mornings looking at the cows across the street & a view of the bay. Very quiet & peaceful. The host communicated well. Will be back!

This is THE ABSOLUTE BEST PLACE we have ever stayed in the area!! In the morning, you can watch the sunrise from the porch or take a quick 2 minute walk to the water’s edge. To see whooping cranes, there’s not a better location to stay. You can literally sit on the porch and photograph them. WOW! The inside of the cabin is adorable and has everything you need. The attention to detail is so nice and it is equipped with snacks, coffee, champagne, and toiletries in case you forget yours. It was our 2nd time staying in the cabin and cannot wait to return.

Do not pass this up! This place was clean, comfy, and felt so big! The appliances and nicely stocked kitchen, we had everything we needed! The deer were out and the views are amazing! Also, minutes from Goose Island State Park. For $5.00 per person you can spend the day exploring this beautiful bay. We had a little confusion with the ac operation but the host responded so fast and even had an AC guy come out and check out the units. Had them running in no time. It’s not a huge place. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We loved the location and how secluded we were. Everything provided at the Airbnb was more than what we needed for our weekend trip. Our favorite part was the view from the patio and driving alongside the water to the big tree during golden hour. We spent a few hours checking out corpus and padre island (too busy for our taste, but most likely due to lack of time!) and we were so happy and relieved as soon as we got back to the Airbnb. Next time we plan a trip here we’ll just stay in Rockport and enjoy the relaxation! We’d definitely recommend to couples or even families just looking for a nice getaway.
